Privacy policy

By the Fish for Naughty Singles editorial teamUpdated · 3 min read

This notice covers the Fish for Naughty Singles information website: the guides and other pages you can read without logging in. The dating service itself runs in a separate members area, which has its own privacy policy. That policy covers your profile, photos, messages, payments and everything else you do once you've joined.

Who is responsible

This website is run by Ambervine Inc, a Delaware company, 131 Continental Drive, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, USA. Ambervine Inc is the data controller for personal data processed through this website.

What this website collects

Very little.

  • No cookies. This website doesn't set any cookies.
  • No advertising or tracking scripts. There are no analytics, advertising, social media or other tracking scripts on these pages.
  • Server logs. The website is a static site hosted by Vercel. As with any website, Vercel's servers log technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for. This is used to keep the site secure and working properly, and is handled under Vercel's privacy policy.

We don't use this information to identify you, profile you or send you marketing.

If you use a join box

Some pages have a box where you can type your email address to start joining. When you submit it, your email address goes straight to the members area at members.fishfornaughtysingles.com and is handled under the members area privacy policy. This website doesn't keep a copy.

Joining the members area means your profile is shared with partner sites in the same network. The members area privacy policy explains how that works.

Our guides link to official sources such as the NHS, police reporting services and support charities. Once you follow a link, that organisation's privacy policy applies. We don't pass any information about you to them.

Under UK and EU data protection law, we rely on our legitimate interests in keeping this website secure and working, which is why the server logs exist. If you submit your email address in a join box, it's processed by the members area to take the step you asked for.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to see what's held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how it's used, and to complain to a regulator. People in the UK have these rights under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018; people in the European Economic Area have them under the GDPR; and residents of some US states have similar rights under state privacy laws.

Because this website holds so little, most requests will be about the members area. Make any request through the members help centre, and say whether it concerns this website, the members area or both.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how your data has been handled, please tell us first through the help centre so we can try to put it right. You can also complain to a data protection regulator: in the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office; in the EU, the data protection authority in your country.

Adults only

This website and the dating service are for adults aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger.

Changes to this notice

If we change how this website handles data, for example by adding analytics, we'll update this notice and the date below before the change takes effect.
